About Accelerando

Wind instrument ranges and standard fingering choices are based on Music Racer. Mallet practice progresses from natural notes in C4–C5 to chromatic notes in C4–C6. This is an independent game.

Notes, fingerings, terms and beat values use 8-, 16-, then 20-question rounds. Note names require every answer correct in 24 seconds for Level A, 40 seconds for Level B, and 40 seconds for Level C. Other reading games require all answers correct, averaging under four seconds. Endurance runs for 1, 2, 3, or 5 minutes at an earned difficulty. It records correct answers and misses in stats; promotions and the speed leaderboard use sprint rounds. Tapping uses 2, 4, then 6 examples at your chosen tempo. Level C examples are two measures long. Every example is visible for at least four preparation beats, using complete measures in its printed meter. An accurate example earns tempo ÷ 10 points; a miss loses the same amount. Correct retries do not recover points. Core rhythm promotion requires every rhythm correct at 80, 100, then 120 BPM or faster. Repertoire studies have their own tempo goals, progress and leaderboards.

Your player code restores your progress and personal stats on any device. Keep the code private; anyone with it can use your profile. Everyone’s stats combine completed rounds from players who can access this site. All-time leaderboards show only each player’s best all-correct round at each level. Players in the top 20 can submit a name for teacher approval. Names stay anonymous until approved; inappropriate submissions are rejected or deleted. Reading rounds rank by speed; tapping rounds rank by tempo, with equal tempos tied. Every game can be compared across all instruments or within one instrument. Older rhythm and terms rounds without a recorded instrument appear only under All instruments.

Repertoire rhythms are original exercises based on the supplied band parts. Each collection targets selected reading skills from that piece.

A wrong answer must be corrected before continuing. Endurance also requires three seconds of recovery after every miss, while the race clock keeps running. It still counts as wrong, and correction time stays in the round time.

Terms use concise paraphrases of OnMusic Dictionary entries. Pronunciations appear beneath each term; capitals mark the stressed syllable.

Each car has its own set of mouth-made racing sounds. Adjust all sound with the volume slider. The logo uses a recorded V10 engine rev.
